Hole in the mexican restaurant. Can hardly tell it's there in the outside but has decent indoor seating and is a fairly clean joint. Food was great and it's not all that expensive. Recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet downtown spot.

Great food. Found this place on Yelp and Google, both had good reviews. Had Carne Asada and wife had fajitas both were fresh and tasty. Worth the drive. Good service.

Gotta say gave this place several chances and they never lived up to what I would have wanted in a Mexican food restaurant. Prices are high. Customer service is unbearable. They never seem welcoming and never smile..its pretty uncomfortable. Food is not good. Seriously underwhelming, The place is always empty and in terrible condition. It could use a little update I mean seriously. Guacamole and salsa is bomb as hell but the cheese they use here tastes like vomit and its on everything...so if you are into that then this is the place for you. I however am not spending that much money again on fatty greasy meat and bad service.

Went with family asked if they had carne asada and the waiter said yes. I ask for tacos with carne asada and he'd told me I couldn't so I had shredded beef. Soggy tacos full of fat

When I arrived here the hostess/waitress was sitting in a booth on her cell phone. I was shown to my table and given a menu, all while she continued her conversation. She was still on the phone when she brought over some chips and salsa. Good salsa. I had the chicken fajitas and they were just mediocre. They lacked the full flavors I was craving. Nothing spectacular, but they filled the void I had at the time. Overall the food was just average and the service was unprofessional and void of any form of customer oriented focus. Even on checkout, there wasn't so much as a thank you for coming in....so when I go through K Falls in the future this will be one place I drive past.

Went there with family the other night and everything was great from the salsa to the dishes. Will definately go there again when I get back to k-falls.

Yum. My husband and I frequent this restaurant with our friends, parents, or by ourselves. The best in Klamath! I have yet to order a meal that I did not like, and I can sometimes be picky. My favorite dish is the Mole Enchiladas, but I regularly order the Chicken Flautas (when I'm extra hungry--it is a huge dish) or items off of the pick two section. Tacos, tamales, chimichangas--they're all delicious and filling. Margaritas here can't be beat anywhere else in Klamath Falls. I haven't tried any desserts, simply because I am always too full after my meal, but they look great. Alfredo, the owner and often times waiter, provides quick and friendly service. Eat here and you won't be disappointed.

We are from the SF Bay Area, and let me tell you......HANDS DOWN, bomb ass Mexican food. Honestly, great Mexican food from Oregon? Do they even have Mexicans here?? Well, the answer is, yes they do and this restaurant takes the cake! (they even have Mexicans in Washington, FYI lol.) I've read that this is the best in Klamath, too! Honestly, this is a hole in the wall restaurant. They are very consistent, and although I would list some of my recommendations on here.... I recommend everything! They are very friendly here, and we are a party of 6+. This is your good, traditional, Mexican food. Nothing fancy, I mean they have plastic table covers. But who cares? Food is off the hook and one of the reasons we always visit our cabin here, for the Mexican food!

It saddens me that locals think this is authentic Mexican food. Or, if not authentic, then actually tasty. It is neither. The chips were nothing special and the salsa was watery. I got a blended, watery watermelon margarita. The chile verde I ordered was practically inedible and was also watery. Seriously, what's with all the watery food here?? My husband's meal, the avocado tostada, was watery too! The refried beans tasted like the can was opened two days ago and they heated them up with some shredded cheese on top in the microwave. The rice was decent, for restaurant Mexican rice. Neither of us could fully finish our dinners, which is rare for us. We tried looking for an ice cream place nearby, which didn't seem to exist, so we ordered fried ice cream. I mean, who could mess up fried ice cream? Ha! They put strawberry syrup on it (weird; it didn't bother me too much but my husband hates strawberry) along with the chocolate. The coating was very stale and therefore chewy; it took me a full minute or two to chew each bite. I don't think this is ordered very often; when we had asked for the dessert menu the waitress acted confused. Service was sub par. Three different people helped us, which seems to be the norm there. They weren't busy; that's just what they do. When we walked in the lady rudely said "hold on a sec guys" as she dealt with a transaction. While we were looking at a map on the wall, we heard her say as her back was to us "follow me" in a slightly annoyed tone. Basically, the employees seem miserable and it shows. But I guess I would be too if I lived in a town that smells like cat piss. Sorry, that last sentence was quite snarky. But damn is it true. There must be some kind of crazy feral cat population in Klamath.

Best, most consistent Mexican restaurant in K-Falls. Margaritas are great, too!

When you think Mexican, you think margaritas. Each margarita we ordered was different and inconsistent in quality from the last. The food was marginally ok, nothing to write home about. The bill was mega expensive for what we received and the service was half-hearted at best. I won't be going back.

finally! a legit mexican restaurant in klamath falls. how long has this place been here?! i came in one night with a friend because he raved that they had the best salsa in town. man, i've been let down before by people with terrible taste in mexican food... luckily this time i wasn't. we were seated and looked at the menu. they brought out chips and salsa for us to eat while we studied the menu. the salsa wasn't too chunky, and had the perfect amount of spice. the chips are light and delicate. i knew from the first bite that this place wouldn't disappoint. as per my quirky nature, i always judge a mexican restaurant on their chicken mole enchiladas, but their menu is extensive and definitely offers something for every one. two huge chicken mole enchiladas came out, covered in a thick mole sauce and smothered with melted cheese. a generous helping of rice and beans balanced the other half of the plate. the mole sauce was perfect: it wasn't watered down (like a lot of other places in town do) and had a great balance between mellow spices and sweetness. the chicken inside was moist, white meat. the rice was decent, as were the beans. the food was so good, i finished the entire plate! the decor inside is gauche, tacky, and absolutely colorful. the service is amazing and attentive. the food is wonderful. hidalgo's is a great place to take your family, friends, or even a date.

Average food. Definitely had better elsewhere. Service was unsatisfactory. Not sure who our server was. No one ever introduced themselves. We had 3 maybe 4 servers helping us. Waited a very long time for our order to be taken and drink refills. We weren't really sure who exactly to ask for help with the drink refills or to help with the mistakes made on one of our orders. Probably won't go back until I've tried all the other Mexican restaurants in Klamath Falls first.

Food was okay, but overpriced. We were the only people in the entire restaurant, yet our food took forever, and we rarely saw our server. Turns out he was sitting in the bar watching tv. Will not be back soon.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
